Writing Centre
The writing centre will be closed during spring and summer sessions but will reopen in September 2009.
The Writing Centre is a free service that provides support for teaching and learning through writing for all Concordia students, staff and faculty. Throughout the academic year we offer the following range of services designed to promote learning through writing.
- One-on-One consultations: to receive individual feedback from an experienced instructor. Appointments are one hour in length.
- Drop-in hours: during busy times of the year, these appointments are twenty minutes long.
- Writing Seminars: focus on the different aspects of writing at university: essay writing, lab reports, thesis statements, referencing, introductions and conclusions, grammar and style, and more.
- In-class presentations: designed to support in-class assignments tailored to specific course requirements.
Writing Centre staff:
- Teach students how to edit and proofread their own work.
- Do not comment on the accuracy of facts or suggest factual content.
- Cannot guarantee or predict a passing mark or specific letter grade.
Responsibility for work rests entirely with the student.
