A: Application deadlines depend upon the program to which you wish to apply and the semester in which you wish to begin studies at Concordia. For application deadlines by semester and program, check out Admission Deadlines.
A: Concordia has no application fee, so it is free to apply. This makes it even more convenient for you to apply on-line.
If you are an International Student, you are required to pay a CDN$80.00 International Assessment Fee before Concordia will assess your application.
A: Concordia accepts applications for different programs at different times of the year, as indicated on the Admission Deadlines page.
Admission to the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Science is non-competitive (first-qualified, first-admitted), so it's important to apply early. Assessments begin in mid-February for September admission and in mid-October for January admission.
Admission to the Management program and the after-degree programs in Education and Environmental Health is competitive. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission into these programs.
A: Students applying directly from high school must present an admission average of 60% in the required Grade 12 subjects with a passing grade in each subject. You may qualify for special admission if you lack an appropriate high school course, are 21 years of age or older without a high school diploma, or are transferring from another post-secondary institution. A: The Education Fee for one year of full-time study in Arts, Science, Management or Environment Health programs for the 2009-2010 school year is CDN$6440.00 and Mandatory Fees are $461.00. See the Fee Schedule page for more information regarding the costs for all programs offered at Concordia.
A: Yes! Students who apply early to the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Management, or Bachelor of Science programs direct from high school may be eligible for scholarship money through Concordia's Entrance Scholarship Program. Entrance awards are valued between $1,000 and $5,000 per year.
To be considered for the Entrance Scholarship Program, students must submit their applications for admission and interim transcripts by April 1st of the year they are applying for September admission; a separate application is not required. Follow the Entrance Scholarship link or contact the Student and Enrolment Services for complete information.
A: Yes. Founders Hall (men), Eberhardt Hall (women) and Wangerin House (women) are available for students who want the convenience of living on campus. Our residences operate during the fall and winter semesters, from late August until April. Each furnished room accommodates two students; however, if space is available, you may apply for a single room. A: Student Orientation is held just before the start of classes in September and January. During this event, students are introduced to student life at Concordia through presentations, student-lead tours of the campus, and a complimentary lunch. New students also pick up their Confirmation Schedule for classes on Orientation Day; specific dates for Orientation are indicated in the Events Calendar.
A:With the opening of the Hole Academic Centre in May 2007, all programs are now located at the Highlands campus at 7128 Ada Boulevard.
A: Yes! Concordia's athletes compete with teams from universities and colleges in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC); winners from the ACAC then compete in the national championships at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) level. We continue to build strong programs in men's and women's badminton, basketball, cross-country running, curling, golf, soccer, swimming, and in men's hockey. In 2004-2005, Concordia athletes won two gold medals, three silver medals, and four bronze medals at the ACAC championships and two CCAA gold medals. You'll also enjoy the Ralph King Athletic Centre, built in 1997 and home to our basketball and badminton teams, with a fitness facility that's open to all students.
