Concordia University College of Alberta

Degree Requirements - 2009-2010 Academic Year

Three-Year Bachelor of Arts:
History Concentration

Concordia's History concentration is designed to provide you with exposure to the richness of historical areas of study. You may select courses from three broad categories to sample the historical experience from several chronological and cultural vantage points. The instructors you will encounter at Concordia are dedicated historians committed to introducing you to their field of study, whether you are contemplating History as your vocation or simply avocation.

As a student of History you will learn to read, think, and write critically – skills which are universally sought by employers in a wide range of occupations.

A History concentration provides the appropriate background for careers in these areas: journalism, public or private archives, museum work, teaching, public relations, communications, historic sites interpretation and management, public administration, business, and law.

Faculty members in the History Department, Dr. Sandy Gow, Dr. Colin Neufeldt and Dr. Richard Willie, are good resources for more information about the History degree program.
