The Concordia University College of Alberta Men's Soccer team have more hardware to add to their 2008 collection with the CCAA National Bronze Medal which the team won this past weekend at the CCAA Soccer National Championships hosted at Thompson River University in Kamloops British Columbia. The Men started their road to the medal rounds by defeating the host TRU Wolfpack by a score of 3-1 in an exciting overtime game. James Senior would net two goals for the Thunder in the win while Chris Lemire added one to the end result. In their second game of the tournament the Thunder faced the OCAA Champion Algonquin Thunder in a rain soaked game. Concordia was unable to overcome the Ontario champions who would defeat Concordia by a socre of 3-0. In the final game for the CCAA National Bronze medal the Thunder would face the King University College Blue Devils of Halifax, champions of the ACAA. The Thunder would storm the Blue Devils by a score of 6-0 to secure the CCAA Bronze medal, the best finish at a National Championship for Men's Soccer in the program's history. In addition to the Bronze Medal the Thunder would be awarded the CCAA Fair Play Award and Gord Garrity and Tristan Ilko would each be named to the CCAA National All-Tournament Team.
