Concordia Students Give Us an "A" for Quality Education

October 31, 2006

Dr. Richard W. Kraemer, President, is delighted with the results achieved by Concordia University College in The Globe & Mail's 2006 university report card. This is the first time Concordia has been included among the universities surveyed in the report card.

Dr. Kraemer says that "among the very small universities in Canada (enrollment less than 4,000) Concordia scored among the highest in the country for quality of teaching, class size and faculty/student interaction, reflecting Concordia's commitment to academics and research."

Dr. Kraemer said "Concordia achieved the highest score within the Province of Alberta for overall quality of education, quality of teaching, class size, and faculty members' knowledge of their subject."

The report card says that Concordia students have expressed the highest level of student satisfaction with the overall quality of their education. This coincides with the assessment provided for the Government of Alberta's graduate student satisfaction survey, when 99 percent of our graduates expressed satisfaction with their overall Concordia education.

Students have given high marks to Concordia's smaller, more personal, interactive class sizes, highlighting the caring and supportive professors. Students said they would recommend Concordia because of the quality of our teaching staff, who are also very accessible to them.

"Concordia is committed to continuing to develop and expand our programs and facilities, to build on the satisfaction students have already expressed about Concordia" says President Kraemer

The opening of the Hole Academic Centre in early 2007 and the introduction of new programs and course options will enable Concordia to strengthen and enhance the educational experience for students choosing Concordia University College of Alberta."
