Last Fall, The Alberta-British Columbia District of Lutheran Church Canada invited all hymn or song writers to submit entries for a composition to be chosen as the Theme Hymn for the Annual District Convention. It will be introduced at the ABC District Convention being held April 21 – 24, 2006 in Red Deer, Alberta. The theme for the Convention is: "Proclaiming His Faithfulness: To Every Nation, Tribe, People and Language."
The Hymn, "Into the Nations"
composed by Mr. Matthew Honey, an alumnus of Concordia University College of Alberta, B.A. Music '2000, has been selected as the Theme Hymn for the Convention. The Hymn is based upon Revelation 7:9, the Theme Bible verse for the Convention.
Congratulations Matt!
Many other compositions were submitted and the organizers plan to present them as well, throughout the Convention.
It is truly "good to sing praises to our God, how pleasant and fitting to praise him!" (Psalm 147:1)
